Role Description

As an ALDI Shift Manager, you act as the primary operational leader during active shift windows, working closely with the Store Manager to drive floor execution, staff productivity, customer satisfaction, and facility safety. Shift Managers oversee frontline team members, lead register checkout efficiency, manage opening and closing procedures, and audit store presentation standards. This role balances active hands-on work—such as cashiering and stocking—with key supervisory responsibilities like cash management, staff delegation, and conflict resolution. This position is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at the store with zero remote work options.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily shift operations, delegating aisle stocking, cashiering, and sanitation duties to store team members to maximize throughput.
• Execute store opening and closing protocols, including alarm security management, building lockups, and safe reconciliations.
• Manage cash register tills, conduct safe audits, process change orders, and verify daily financial deposit documentation.
• Monitor front-end register queues, directing backup cashiers as needed to maintain rapid customer checkout speeds.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, service resolutions, and pricing or return escalations.
• Enforce food safety, cold-chain compliance, workplace safety, and sanitation guidelines across all store departments.
• Provide continuous on-the-job coaching, performance feedback, and training to store associates and new hires.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; prior supervisory or leadership experience in retail or food service preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform physical retail tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 45 lbs), bending, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
• Flexibility to work open, mid, and closing shifts as operational needs demand.
• Basic mathematical proficiency and experience with cash handling or point-of-sale systems.

Job Type & Schedule

• Job Type: Full-Time (100% On-Site).
• Schedule: Rotating shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store operational schedules.
